JUNE 25, 2008

We were proud to be a sponsor of NYCBSDCon Oct. 11-12, 2008.

We were also proud to be a sponsor of EuroBSDCon 2008 Oct. 18-19, 2008 in Strasbourg, France.

Java 1.6 installable packages are now available! These are Java 1.6 certified binaries for FreeBSD 6.3 and 7.0.

Our Semi-Annual Newsletter is now available! Check out what the foundation has been up to this year.

If you have a few minutes, check out the bsdtalk interview with Justin Gibbs. It’s a great opportunity to find out about our history, what we have done, and where we are headed.

The FreeBSD Foundation was proud to sponsor AsiaBSDCon 2008 and BSDCan 2008 this year.

BSDCan 2008 was a success. We were proud to be a sponsor of this international BSD conference. We also sponsored the FreeBSD Developer Summit that was held for the two days prior to the conference. We were pleased to be able to provide ten travel grants for developers to attend the conference.

We had a table at BSDCan where, for a donation, we gave away very stylish foundation baseball caps and books that were donated from No Starch Press. We received $1715 in donations, including $290 from iXsystems.

We held our annual board meeting and reelected the current directors and officers. We also had a chance to meet with many developers to discuss current and potential projects.
